When I realised that aunt Molly was determined to marry that particular person,  I asked her, "auntie, then why don't you marry him and escape from grandfather's abusive words ?  Grandfather has become addict of liquor and has lost the control of his mind".  Aunt Molly replied that how could she marry in that situation because she had to clear the debts and also added that after aunt Laly's marriage,  everyone returned to their own houses.   No one enquired about the financial matters.  For that also,  she spent money.  Therefore,  aunt Molly could leave the house after completing all her responsibilities.
One day,  I knew that aunt Molly went to  her lover's house.   Hearing the news,  I became fearful because many questions aroused in my mind.   Whether her marriage is registered in the proper way, that means as per Special Marriage Act, then the reality that she wouldn't come to the Church, the fact that we wouldn't go to her house - all these made me worried.  But I said to myself that as a thirty years old, hardworking, having a job as Mahila Pradhan Agent in Post Office, nothing would happen to her.  As I had already mentioned,  she was the tailor of all the members of our family.   It was after she left the house that we enquired about some tailorshops.   Later we heard the news that grandfather gave permission to take the tailoring machine from the house.   It happened like this.  Aunt Molly's cousins who lived near their house came to aunt Molly's ( my mother's ) house.   Those uncles talked with grandfather and at last, he agreed to remove the machine from the house.   So, it was those uncles who removed the machine from the house to aunt Molly's new house.
I want to say a few words about my college life.   The fact that I was not studying - it remained so.  When Christmas was arrived,  everyone in my class was excited.   It was announced that there would be a carol song competition  in the college.  The 1st & 2nd year Degree students could take part in the competition.   There were some girls who were very interested in such activities and I also joined with them.   If my memory is correct,  our team stood at the 2nd place.
An incident which affected me the most was the marriage of my classmate, Preetha.   "We have completed eighteen years old", I thought fearfully.   But what made me nervous was not this.   My classmates started to collect money to buy a present to the bride.   I felt that the amount of money was unbearable for me.  I gave the money from the lumpsum grant which I had kept for urgent requirements.  As I was not in hostel,  I got lumpsum grant in my hand with which I could purchase books or other necessary things related to studies.   This was a problem which I faced throughout my college life period.   The richest & smart ( who doesn't know that there are poor people ) would decide how much money should be collected.  However, we went to her marriage and did she come to the college ?  I think she joined for TTC and didn't come to our class.
