In IInd year Pre - Degree class,  the practical tests of Botany,  Zoology,  Chemistry and Physics only remained.   If my memory is correct,  the last examination,  Physics Practical was decided to conduct on 18th May 1991.   I wonderfully remember the night before the examination.  I couldn't read anything - something was there prohibiting me from learning.   I went for the examination very sad and in a heart-broken state.   But,  when I reached the college,  I heard the news that the Physics Practical was postponed because of some technical reasons. It was announced that the new date would be announced later.   In such a situation,  all the IInd year Pre - Degree students vacated hostel,  I was also with them.
I had already planned in my mind that after the IInd year Pre - degree Course,  I would go to mother's house alone,  as a surprise because I thought I had grown too much.   I remembered how many times aunt Molly and Laly came to my house alone when they were very young.   So, I couldn't wait no more  and went to Pothanicad, where my mother's house situated.   When I reached there, aunt Molly and Rhymie were there.  I don't remember the other's  faces present at that time.    Aunt Molly said loudly with surprise , "see Rhymie,  our children  are growing fast, she has come alone".  Our nearest neighour, Ms Parvathy's house was on the opposite side of the road.   She came near  our house on the opposite side of the road and spoke to aunt Molly and others .  She asked,  "are you fine ? What about your parents", to which I wouldn't give any reply.   "She is shy when compared to her mother, "she would say.  I didn't like her remarks but controled myself.
Later,  I came to know that in Parvathy's house,  a new Television had been bought. She was the only child of her parents and married to a Govt servant.   Her husband was also living in her house and they had one girl and one boy as their children.   In the evening,  she invited us to watch Television and I think there was only Doordarshan at that time.
In 1989 Loksabha election, because of several reasons,  the ruling party, Indian National Congress couldn't win and the former Prime Minister,  Rajiv Gandhi was in the Opposition.   Then, with the support of many small parties,  V P Singh could become the Prime Minister of India.   Even today,  I remember some peculiar news published everyday in newspaper, about the new Prime Minister.   One of them was that in his house,  there was no Colour Television.   Instead,  only a black & white Television was there.   The news was given in order to project his simple life.  I was interested to read about the leaders who led a simple life.   That's why I remember this till this moment.   But,  later his majority was lost & Chandrasekhar became the Prime Minister of India.   Later,  he resigned on 6th March 1991.   Then, the next general elections to Loksabha,  began in the year 1991.
I think I can continue this matter a little bit after.
