Let me share with you some more ideas about inferiority & superiority complexes.   Instead of inferiority complex,  I used "a person's most tragical situation".  'A person' can be replaced by caste, tribe, community, race or even a continent !  Now,  it is said that a girl having a black or brown colour ( in the Indian background ) feel inferiority complex when she sees a fair girl.   Like that,  the reverse also happen,  in their opinion.   It is also said that the boys as well as girls feel inferiority complex when they see their classtoppers or the toppers in sports items in their classes.  Similarly,  when a student from a low caste  enters a college, and stay in a hostel,  it is said that the student feel inferiority complex and to change that student's behaviour,  the seniors rag him/her & finally it ends in the student's death or discontinuation of studies.   In such a situation,  my opinion is this - the seniors who have the fat under the skin which developed as the result of taking too much food in their rich families - made them arrogant.   Here,  fat is the problem.  Their parents are very proud of their children having this fat under the skin because this makes them very beautiful.   However,  this type of students rag the juniors or low caste students who have not too much fat under the skin.  They become arrogant and do anything and everything against the rules of the hostel.   The low caste students would watch their actions surprisingly and fearfully.   Then,  the society call them having "inferiority complex", but I won't.   It is in this context that I use the term "a person's most tragical situation ".
Similar is the case with tribes.   When a child comes out from a particular tribe,  things become even worst.   There are certain communities who can't accept the mode of living of the contemporary society.   Then,  coming to racial differences,  at the moment when I try to remember it,  my mind is filled with sadness.   The people who experienced the horrible discrimination the most was the Africans.   Yes.   The African continent as a whole we can consider.   It was on the basis of the colour of the skin that they had to become slaves not only in their own country but also in USA and some other European countries.   I don't want to explain the sufferings of African-Americans in USA but the experiences of Cassius Clay ( Muhammad Ali ), Olympic gold medalist,  are there in front of us,  as an example.   He had no inferiority complex.   He was very happy to represent his country,  USA,  in Olympics.   But,  as he was an African-American,  he had to suffer a lot.   So, he was in his "most tragical situation" - he threw his Olympic medal into the Ohio river.
I think I have deviated a little from my story.   I had passed the SSLC examination.   The next step was to apply for Pre-degree Course ( two years ) in a college.  Before that,  I have to explain about the prize distributions.   As the SSLC examination result was very important, various associations & organisations were giving prizes to school toppers, those who achieved distinction etc.  In our Church also,  there was a usual practice to give a prize to the top scorer from the members.   The prize distribution was fixed on August 15, on the day of "Soonoyo" of St Mary ( Assumption of St Mary ), the mother of Jesus Christ, and also the Independence Day of India.   In that year,  there was a peculiarity in distribution of prizes because in our parish church,  there was a girl,  Sandra,  who studied in St Peter's English Medium High School and scored above 500 marks.   I don't remember the marks exactly.   She was a relative of our neighbour,  vellyechi. But she didn't attend Sunday School classes.   However,  in that year,  the Vicar of our Church declared that they were giving 1st & 2nd prizes to the winners.   I realised the meaning at once.   Though I was a schooltopper,  I scored below 500 marks.   But in the other school,  how many of them achieved distinction !  "But we were only 39 students", I tried to console myself.
I still remember Sandra receiving the 1st prize and coming back with a smile.   What was my facial expression ?  I don't know.   There is one more thing to say.   I don't remember what prize was given to me.   It might be some money,  I think.   I must have given it to my father.   One thing is clear - the prize was not a very valuable thing.   Otherwise,  my parents might have told it to everyone.
